How Flight Changes Work
If your plans change, most airlines allow you to modify your booking subject to their fare rules. As an independent travel agency, WORLDZTRAVEL LLC can review your ticket, explain your options and process the change on your behalf with the airline.
- Call us at (888) 973-7318 with your booking confirmation or ticket number.
- We review your fare rules — whether your ticket permits changes, any airline change fee, and the fare difference for your new flight.
- You approve all costs first. We disclose the total amount (airline fees + fare difference + any agency service fee, if applicable) before processing anything.
- We confirm the change and email your updated itinerary to your address on file.
What Affects Your Change Cost
- Fare type: Basic Economy fares on most U.S. airlines generally do not permit changes. Standard Economy and above usually do.
- Airline policy: Many major U.S. carriers have eliminated change fees on standard domestic fares, but a fare difference may still apply.
- Fare difference: If your new flight costs more, you pay the difference. If it costs less, some airlines issue a travel credit for the difference.
- Route and timing: International tickets and last-minute changes often carry stricter rules and higher fees.
Same-Day Changes
Many airlines offer same-day confirmed changes or standby for a reduced fee, subject to availability. Call us as early as possible on your travel day and we'll check what your airline allows.
Name Corrections
Minor name corrections (spelling fixes) are usually permitted by airlines; full name changes to a different traveler are generally not allowed. Contact us promptly if your ticketed name doesn't match your government-issued ID.
Important Notes
- All changes are subject to airline approval, seat availability and the fare rules of your original ticket.
- Changes must be made before your originally scheduled departure; no-shows typically forfeit ticket value.
- Any agency service fee is separate from airline charges and is disclosed before you authorize the change.
